Favorite Graphic Novels

I'm thinking of starting to read graphic novels. I've never actually read one all the way through, so does anyone have any suggestions on where to start?

I'm also curious about what your favorites are, and what they're about.

V for Vendetta.
V for Vendetta is nothing short of a masterpiece.
It was near the knuckle, weird, anarchic, and had a fantastic storyline. I warn you, though, it is all of those things times ten.
It has very mature content in it so...yeah, I'd say you should read it. thumbsup.gif

Daisy Kutter: The Last Train. It may not be some 32+ volume epic (it's a single volume), but the It's brevity is sort of it's strength. As far as genre is concerned it is a WKA scifi western, but that makes it sound prdinary. As I said earlier the comic's strenght is it's brevity. I mean this in both length and text. It almsot makes me believe the old cliche: "A picture is worth a thousand words.". the plot is basicly about an ex-outlaw who loses her buisness, and accepts an offer for participating a rather peculiar heist. Encounters with here ex, her own discrimination in the mixed world, and good old fashion sportsmanship only complicate things. Sadly, things are a bit predictable. You feel that it has more potentail than Kibuishi was able to execute properly.

What I actualy like the most about DK are the extras, which are delivered in spades. You get reimaginings of the titular character by different artist, origins of the character, and even story boards.

Hmm, that sounds like another one I'll be checking out.
A lot of times people get caught up in a series and don't bother with the standalone books. I actually like everything. XD

I remember when I went to Thought Bubble you were given a free graphic novel for entering...It was called 'We can still be friends', and it was great! The artwork was very stylised and quite loose but really sucked you in. It was pretty autobiographical. The artist's name is only shown as Mawil. Go to www.blankslatebooks.co.uk for more. I really recommend it.
