So as you may know, I am terrible at drawing things of the scenery type. I've always focused more on characters, so I haven't really improved at drawing backgrounds or scenery... ever. XD
So does anyone have any tips or techniques to share?
Just make sure it isn't as defined as the characters, which should at all times be the point of focus. Perhaps use pastel colours or a thinner outline? Details are important but try not to overdo it, unless you want to replicate a real world around the characters, but it's often tricky and takes a lot of practice. Also, try not to make it a fluorescent green, which, through either my screen or your colouring, seems to happen quite often...No offence but really, it does. O.o
My biggest adivce is read. Read bools on archtechture and drafting. A bit of basic algebra (of course math is related to every thing but visual art especially).might be requirued if you want things accurate but one you get the equations down things should do preety nicely if you have the right tools and enough patience.
